Itinerary

1st Day – Barcelona

Transfer from airport or train station to the chosen hotel. City sightseeing tour. Rest of the day free. Gourmet dinner. Accommodation.

2nd Day – Barcelona / Vic / Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Vic, capital within the region of Barcelona – Osona, situated by the river Meder, near the impressive Sau swamp. Its remarkable Cathedral is home to an archbishopric. The temple, built at the end of the XVIII century, is of neoclassical style and one of its biggest attractions are the inside murals by Josep Maria Sert. In the Middle Ages, the city was divided into two sectors, one around the Castle of Montcada and another around the Cathedral. The route in Vic will also lead us to places as emblematic as the Palau Episcopal, built near the precincts of the Cathedral; the arcaded Plaza Mayor, the Roman temple, the convent of Sant Domenech or the Church of la Pietat. Lunch. In the afternoon we visit a production of sausages, typical of the region. Return to Barcelona. Gourmet dinner. Accommodation.

3rd Day – Barcelona / Montserrat / Terrassa / Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the mount of St. Montserrat. Arrinving at Monistrol of Montserrat we will take the “Cremallera”, (cable car) by which we ascend slowly to the top, watching a splendid panoramic view during the journey. Visit the Monastery of Montserrat is essential because it is a place of pilgrimage. The image of the Virgin, known as La Moreneta is a sculpture of the XII century, with the face and hands in a dark color (brown); has on the left hand the Child and on the right globe. Not to be missed is the daily singing of Escolanía, at 13hrs, specializing in Gregorian chant and famous throughout the world. After we go to Terrassa. Lunch. In the Afternoon visit to the “Iglesies Romániques Sant Pere” and “Modernista” Terrassa. Return to Barcelona. Rest of the afternoon free. Gourmet dinner. Accommodation.

4th Day – Barcelona / Zona Penedés D.O. / Barcelona

Breakfast at hotel and departure to Vilafranca del Penedés. Arrival to the area par excellence of wines and sparkling wines, visit to an important champagne cellar, with guided tour and tasting. We continue the journey to “Academy of Tastavins del Penedés” where a wine seminar will take place and we will have the opportunity of making wine, there will also be a blind wine tasting and the participants that guess which are the correct wines will go home with several products from that region. Countryside lunch. In the afternoon, after finishing the visit, return to Barcelona. Gourmet dinner. Accommodation.

5th Day – Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards we leave to a visit at to the Gothic quarter and an overview of the city, with a stop at the Holy Family. Free time. In the afternoon, at a fixed hour, departure to a taste of ham, where you can try the several different qualities and textures of ham and their flavors, according to the provenance, rearing and feeding of the pig. All hams tasted will be Iberian, with denomination of origin. We continue with dinner and at the end we return to the hotel. Accommodation.

6th Day – Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel and departute transfer to the airport or train station.
