Program: 10 Days – 9 Nights

Day 1 – San José, Costa Rica

Welcome to Costa Rica, inside the airport you will be assisted by one of our representatives; at the exit door of the airport, a guide of Destination Costa Rica with a passenger sign name will meet and guide you to our motorcoach that will provide the private transfer to the hotel in San José.

 

Located at just 40 minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport, offers high speed WI-FI Internet access in all property; complimentary breakfast, exclusive soundproof windows to assure a comfortable stay.
It offers 5 meeting rooms conveniently equipped for the most demanding business meetings.
Guest can swim in a 20 meter long indoor temperate pool, enjoy at the Jacuzzi or exercise in the fully equipped gym. Free shuttle service to local corporate offices, commercial malls and dining areas.

Day 2 – Poás Volcano + Sarchi + Coffee Plantation

Breakfast at the hotel. This tour takes us to the unforgettable Poas Volcano; across coffee plantations and scenic vistas, and then into the heart of the artisans´ workshops in Sarchi. At the volcano we will have a light hike to enjoy the impressive main crater. Next, after visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch at Doka Estate. Our third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America. Grecia is home to one of the only Metal Churches in Central America.

Day 3 – San Jose – Tortuguero

Today we start our journey early in the morning around 6:00 a.m. Our private transportation will pick up the group in the Aurola Holiday Inn Hotel according to the program. We will take the road to Limon crossing the astonishing Braulio Carrillo National Park. Around 8:00, arrive at El Ceibo Restaurant where you´ll enjoy a typical breakfast. The trip continues to the shipment port, passing the long banana plantations.
Around 11:00 the boat will be waiting for us to take us throughout the canals, arriving to Pachira Lodge around 12:30pm /1:00pm. A welcome cocktail and a delicious lunch will be waiting for you, while the tour guides provide all the information for a relaxing stay at our tropical paradise lodge. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.

The Pachira Lodge is strategically located only 5 minutes away from the extraordinary Tortuguero National.

Park and right across the main “canal” facing the town of Tortuguero. It is a comfortable jungle resort, surrounded by a network of very scenic canals.
Pachira Lodge offers 88 comfortable wooden rooms, an spectacular swimming pool shaped like a giant sea turtle and a
buffet-style restaurant.

Day 4 – Tortuguero Park

Breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast you will enjoy the tropical gardens tour, rest of the morning at leisure to enjoy the pool or just relax.
In the afternoon ride a boat through the canals, this region abounds with rich flora and fauna. Its several waterways allow all kinds of life to grow and developed in a Primary and Secondary Tropical Rain Forest. Orchids, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, toucans and many other species, can be seen all over the area.

Day 5 – Tortuguero – Arenal

Early breakfast at Pachira Lodge, check out and boat transfer to La Pavona where your transportation will be waiting for you and have lunch on road by Pachira Lodge. After lunch transfer to Arenal.

On the way Visit a pineapple plantation. Sample Costa Rica’s famous sweet organic pineapples. Next, through scenic countryside to the San Carlos Valley for a two night stay in Fortuna. Dinner.
Check in at Los Lagos Hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights on Standard room.
Los Lagos Hotel offers comfortable rooms equipped for a memorable stay. In addition to being surrounded by beautiful grounds and a tropical forest; the hotel offers its guests hot springs, cold springs, toboggan, therapeutic
massages and even a Jacuzzi in which you can sit back and relax.
There are also other services: a restaurant with a selected variety of wines, a laundry, a souvenir shop and the Spa room. Other attractions are the crocodile farm, a butterfly garden, frog ponds and the popular zompopas ants nest.

Day 6 – Arenal

Breakfast at your hotel. During the morning, visit to a Maleku Indians Village replica, a Butterfly Garden, a Frog Pond and Nature Hike. Lunch at the return to the hotel. If weather conditions allow it you will see the nearby and magnificent Arenal Volcano.
Afternoon at leisure, time to enjoy hotel facilities and hot springs at the hotel.
Dinner included at hotel restaurant.

Day 7 – Arenal – Central Pacific

After Breakfast and check out, meet your guide at the lobby for a private transfer to The North pacific area of Guanacaste. On the way hanging bridges.
Arenal Hanging Bridges is a must-do in the area of La Fortuna for anyone who loves nature and the rainforest.
Enjoy strolling comfortably through the beautiful Tropical Rain Forest and its revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife.
Walk across the Hanging Bridges and gaze at a 18 meters (60 feet) waterfall within a comfortable non-slippery trail without steps and acquire an once in a lifetime bracing adventure.
Lunch on a local restaurant.
After Lunch you will be continues to Puntarenas zone. This transfer takes about 3.5 hours driving to the Mid Pacific area of the country.
Upon arrival, check in at Fiesta Resort Hotel for two nights’ accommodations on Standard room.

This hotel is located near the port of Puntarenas, just 50 minutes from San Jose. It offers a dynamic program of activities and entertainment for the whole family, a complex of refreshing, pools and comfortable rooms for an unforgettable stay.

Day 8 – Centarl Pacific – Carara National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning tour Carara National Park. This incredible protected area measures about 4,700 Hectares and is home to
Approximately 48% of Costa Rica’s aviary species. This Jaco tour will show you the importance of the region, as it is situated in a transitional region between the tropical dry forest and the humid pacific rainforest. This Jaco tour showcases colorful species of flora and fauna from a varied ecosystem. You will be able to spot the Scarlet Macaw, Collared Aracai and various monkey specimens. At the end of this tour the transportation to take you back to your hotel. Lunch at the hotel.
Afternoon at leisure to enjoy hotel facilities.

Day 9 – Central Pacific – San José

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. After lunch we will continue to San Jose where we will have our last night in Costa Rica.
Check in at Wyndham Garden San Jose Escazú Hotel for one-night accommodation on STD Room.

Farwell dinner. Home to the Tierra Tica show. Ram Luna is perched high above the mountains overlooking the Central Valley. From this unique vantage point you can admire the auspicious panoramic views at dusk, and then take in the brilliance of the lights emanating from the capital.
Each Wednesday and Thursday night, the Mirador Ram Luna Restaurant is decked out with marimba and cimarrona music, traditional Costa Rican folk dancing and clowns, in the midst of typical Costa Rican cuisine including the delicious recipes of our grandparents

Day 10 – San José International Airport
Fly back home. I will return with more friends.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. This day you will be transferred directly to the San José Juan Santamaria International Airport. International Airlines request to be at the Airport three hours prior to departure time.
Lunch on own.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

  • Please note that it’s a quotation and there are not blocked rooms.
  • Closed out dates from Nov 30th to Jan 5th and Easter week according to the dates of each year.
  • Must be quoted each enquire from Dec 1st to Jan 5th.
  • All prices are per person, subject to change without previous notice.
  • Given price does not include air portion.
  • All rooms at different properties have two double beds; participants on triple room may have to share the bed with roommate.
  • Hotels do not guarantee King or Queen Beds and this is subject to availability.
  • If number of passengers change, prices may change as well.
  • Arrival Transfer are based on passengers arriving on the same flight or with few minutes of difference between one from the other, if we have more than 15 minutes different between flights, we need to hire additional transfers with an additional charge.
  • Currently sales taxes in Costa Rica are 13% and they are included on your quote. However, in 2020 the will apply to many different services that were not by law forced to pay. The percentage will apply in July 01st. As soon as the new percentage of taxes will be defined by the government all tour operators should have to include them on all the quoted programs and the program cost will change without previous notice.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PAYMENTS (for individuals)

  • 15% Deposit at time confirmation
  • 45 days prior to the passenger’s arrival the final payment will be requested. All deposits are not refundable at this time.
  • Prices Subject to change due to government taxes. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PAYMENTS FOR GROUPS
• For EACH group reserved a deposit of USD $3,000.00 is requested to guarantee the rooms.

This deposit must be received on the dates indicated on the hotel contract.
• Payment and procedures change at each property. Hotels will ask for deposits in advance. We will inform you immediately of the exact amount of the deposit.
• 90 days prior to the group arrival, we will ask for additional information as well as a final number of rooms. At this time, it will be necessary to pay a 50% of the total amount, less the previous deposit.
• 60 days prior to the group arrival, the final payment will be requested. Deposits are not refundable at this time.
• Prices Subject to change due to government taxes.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • These tour programs are operated by Destination Costa Rica, in common with “Departures and Arrivals” Destination Costa Rica acts as an agent for Tour Members in arranging room accommodations, transportation, sightseeing. DCR reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes in the itinerary and is not responsible for expenses, loss of time, money or other happening resulting from a change of tour scheduling made for Tour Members. DCR reserves the right to accept, decline or retain any person as a member of the tour, and is not responsible for any losses or damages of personal property, or for injuries, expenses or damages incurred by any Tour Member. 

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If any passenger must return home early. DCR will try to avoid last minute cancellations fees, however the decision is subject to the different policies of the different providers involve on this itinerary.
  • No refund on unused portions of the program.

EXCLUSIONS

  • Departures and Arrivals and Destination Costa Rica reserves the right to alter its Refund and Cancellation Policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of DCR. 

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE TOUR?

  • The land price of your tour does not include airfare to the tour departure point; any inter-country air; items of a personal nature; meals not included on the itinerary; sightseeing attractions listed as “optional excursions”. 

PASSPORT

  • Each passenger must have a valid passport.
  • Expiry date of passports should be at least six months after the return date of tour.
