Day 1 (Welcome to Costa Rica!)

Welcome to Costa Rica, inside the airport you will receive a Destination Costa Rica sticker and will be assisted in the immigration and customs procedures by one of our representatives; at the exit door of the airport, a guide of Destination Costa Rica with a group sign name will meet and guide you to our motor coach that will provide the private transfer to the hotel in San José.
Check in at Radisson San Jose Hotel for one night accommodation on STD Room.
Meals included: Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 2 – San Jose – Tortuguero

Today we start our journey early in the morning around 6:00 a.m. Our private transportation will pick up the group in the Aurola Holiday Inn Hotel according to the program. We will take the road to Limon crossing the astonishing Braulio Carrillo National Park. Around 8:00, arrive at El Ceibo Restaurant where you´ll enjoy a typical breakfast. The trip continues to the shipment port, passing the long banana plantations.
Around 11:00 the boat will be waiting for us to take us throughout the canals, arriving to Pachira Lodge around 12:30pm /1:00pm. A welcome cocktail and a delicious lunch will be waiting for you, while the tour guides provide all the information for a relaxing stay at our tropical paradise lodge. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.
The Pachira Lodge is strategically located only 5 minutes away from the extraordinary Tortuguero National Park and right across the main “canal” facing the town of Tortuguero. It is a comfortable jungle resort, surrounded by a network of very scenic canals.
Pachira Lodge offers 88 comfortable wooden rooms, an spectacular swimming pool shaped like a giant sea turtle and a
Buffet-style restaurant.

Day 3 -Tortuguero National Park

Breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast you will enjoy the tropical gardens tour, rest of the morning at leisure to enjoy the pool or just relax.
In the afternoon ride a boat through the canals, this region abounds with rich flora and fauna. Its several waterways allow all kinds of life to grow and developed in a Primary and Secondary Tropical Rain Forest. Orchids, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, toucans and many other species, can be seen all over the area.

Day 4 (Tortuguero  – Sarapiqui)

Early breakfast at Pachira Lodge, 8:30 am check out and boat transfer to La Pavona or Caño Blanco where your transportation will be waiting for you and have lunch on road by Pachira Lodge. After lunch transfer to Sarapiquí, upon arrival, check in at SUEÑO AZUL RESORT where you will spend one night in STD Room.

Located in the plains of Northern, Horquetas Sarapiqui at just 2 hours from San Jose. Hacienda Sueño Azul offers magnificent panoramic 65 spacious rooms are beautifully decorated with an elegant rustic style quipped with fans, air conditioning and a private terrace; with lake, mountain or river views.
It also has Junior Suite rooms with double terrace and jacuzzi. You can also enjoy pool, restaurant, the external hot tub, souvenir store, conference rooms with a capacity from 25 – 100 people, magical Spa, yoga and meditation room.

After sunset, you will enjoy the Bat Tour. Did you know that bats represent 50% (110 species) of Costa Rican mammals? We invite you to enhance your education, dispel myths you may have heard about these wonderful mammals, and enjoy this adventure into the world of the bats.
At the Tirimbina Rainforest Center you will enjoy a multi-media presentation on the history of bats, their classification system, diversity, adaptations, reproduction methods, threats, and more. And for the most popular part of the Bat Tour, a trained guide will provide visitors a safe opportunity to touch, feed and release safely captured bats.
Visitors can also take a short guided walk to see the mist nets used to gently catch these creatures. The bats are kept for less than 2 hours and the professional methods used assure the well-being of the animals.
After this interesting tour we return to the hotel and dinner will be offer at the hotel.

Day 5 – Sarapiqui – Arenal

Breakfast at your hotel. Check out and Departure to La Fortuna area, on the way Visit a pineapple plantation. Sample Costa Rica’s famous sweet organic pineapples.
We proudly welcome you to enjoy the tour of our 33-hectare organic pineapple plantation. Located in La Virgen de Sarapiquí in Costa Rica, it is an area known for the richness of its soils and its abundance of nature. Our tour is truly a rural adventure where you will discover (and taste) a way of life built around an authentic, organic philosophy and life-long commitment to protecting the sanctity of our land.

Come learn about our organic practices and innovations, including compost fertilization, natural herbicides, crop rotation, and companion planting. Life on the farm is a wonderful part of our Costa Rican heritage that so few visitors ever experience.
Lunch on a local restaurant.
Next, continues through scenic countryside to La Fortuna town located in San Carlos.
Often simply referred to as La Fortuna, the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos is the gateway to the magnificent Arenal Volcano. Not to be confused with a town of the same name 70 km northwest of here, La Fortuna de San Carlos is located in Alajuela province, and connects the Arenal Volcano area with the cloud forests of Monteverde and Santa Elena and the northern lowlands of the country.
Check in at Arenal Manoa Hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights.

Arenal Manoa Hotel and Spa is a convenient four-star eco-resort located near Arenal Volcano. In addition to being located in close proximity to La Fortuna downtown, hotel’s amenities include WiFi, hiking trails, bar,

All Junior Suite rooms are spacious, individual-standing suites that have a volcano view and private sitting area. The hotel has both an adult and children’s swimming pool, as well as a Jacuzzi and wet bar. The restaurant serves an intriguing mix of local and international cuisine.

Day 6 – Arenal

Breakfast included at the hotel. Today we start our Morning of adventures at the Arenal Hanging Bridges this is a must-do in the area of La Fortuna for anyone who loves nature and the rainforest.
Enjoy strolling comfortably through the beautiful Tropical Rain Forest and its revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife.
Walk across the Hanging Bridges and gaze at a 18 meters (60 feet) waterfall within a comfortable non-slippery trail without steps and acquire an once in a lifetime bracing adventure.
After this visit continues to La Fortuna town where you will enjoy the lunch on a local restaurant.
This afternoon you will have free time to explore the town or visit s ome of the souvenir shops and take a souvenir to your country.

Day 7 – Arenal – Central Pacific

After Breakfast and check out, meet your guide at the lobby for a private transfer to The North pacific area of Guanacaste. On the way hanging bridges.
Arenal Hanging Bridges is a must-do in the area of La Fortuna for anyone who loves nature and the rainforest.
Enjoy strolling comfortably through the beautiful Tropical Rain Forest and its revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife.
Walk across the Hanging Bridges and gaze at a 18 meters (60 feet) waterfall within a comfortable non-slippery trail without steps and acquire an once in a lifetime bracing adventure.
Lunch on a local restaurant.
After Lunch you will be continues to Puntarenas zone. This transfer takes about 3.5 hours driving to the Mid Pacific area of the country.

Upon arrival, check in at Fiesta Resort Hotel for two nights’ accommodations on Standard room.

This hotel is located near the port of Puntarenas, just 50 minutes from San Jose. It offers a dynamic program of activities and entertainment for the whole family, a complex of refreshing, pools and comfortable rooms for an unforgettable stay.

Under the all-inclusive system, you will have unlimited food and beverage service in a variety of restaurants and bars, water sports, nightly shows and disco club. Choose between Standard, Deluxe or Junior suites. All of them offer stunning views of the ocean or gardens.

Day 8 – Central Pacific – Carara National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning tour Carara National Park. This incredible protected area measures about 4,700 Hectares and is home to
Approximately 48% of Costa Rica’s aviary species. This Jaco tour will show you the importance of the region, as it is situated in a transitional region between the tropical dry forest and the humid pacific rainforest. This Jaco tour showcases colorful species of flora and fauna from a varied ecosystem. You will be able to spot the Scarlet Macaw, Collared Aracai and various monkey specimens. At the end of this tour the transportation to take you back to your hotel. Lunch at the hotel.
Afternoon at leisure to enjoy hotel facilities.

Day 9 – Central Pacific – San Jose

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. After lunch we will continue to San Jose where we will have our last night in Costa Rica.
Check in at Wyndham Garden San Jose Escazú Hotel for one-night accommodation on STD Room.

Farwell dinner. Home to the Tierra Tica show. Ram Luna is perched high above the mountains overlooking the Central Valley. From this unique vantage point you can admire the auspicious panoramic views at dusk, and then take in the brilliance of the lights emanating from the capital.
Each Wednesday and Thursday night, the Mirador Ram Luna Restaurant is decked out with marimba and cimarrona music, traditional Costa Rican folk dancing and clowns, in the midst of typical Costa Rican cuisine including the delicious recipes of our grandparents.

Day 10 (Good bye Costa Rica! – I will be back !)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. This day you will be transferred directly to the San José Juan Santamaria International Airport.
International Airlines request to be at the Airport three hours prior to departure time.
Lunch on own.

• All rooms at different properties have two double beds; participants on triple room may have to share the bed with roommate. Hotels do not guarantee King or Queen Beds and this is subject to availability.
• If number of passengers change, prices may change as well.
• The group will have an expert Tour Manager guide throughout the whole itinerary.
• Rates only include tips at the airport.
• Rates do not include $31.00 departure tax.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PAYMENTS
• For EACH group reserved a deposit of USD $3,000.00 is requested to guarantee the rooms at FIESTA RESORT This deposit must be received on the dates indicated on the hotel contract.
• Payment and procedures change at each property. Hotels will ask for deposits in advance. We will inform you immediately of the exact amount of the deposit.
• 90 days prior to the group arrival, we will ask for additional information as well as a final number of rooms. At this time, it will be necessary to pay a 50% of the total amount, less the previous deposit.
• 60 days prior to the group arrival, the final payment will be requested. Deposits are not refundable at this time.
• Prices Subject to change due to government taxes.

RESPONSIBILITY
• These tour programs are operated by Destination Costa Rica, in common with other companies, Destination Costa Rica acts as an agent for Tour Members in arranging room accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, admissions and restaurants. DCR reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes in the itinerary and is not responsible for expenses, loss of time, money or other happening resulting from a change of tour scheduling made for Tour Members. DCR reserves the right to accept, decline or retain any person as a member of the tour, and is not responsible for any losses or damages of personal property, or for injuries, expenses or damages incurred by any Tour Member.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
• If any passenger must return home early. DCR will try to avoid last minute cancellations fees, however the decision is subject to the different policies of the different providers involve on this itinerary.
• No refund on unused portions of the tours.

EXCLUSIONS
• Destination Costa Rica reserves the right to alter its Refund and Cancellation Policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of DCR.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE TOUR?
• The land price of your tour does not include airfare to the tour departure point; any inter-country air; items of a personal nature; meals not included on the itinerary; sightseeing attractions listed as “optional excursions” and gratuities to the full time Tour Manager, motor coach driver, and local guides.

PASSPORT
• Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport. Expiry date of passports should be at least six months after the return date of tour.
